Ashley Jungjohan is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Licensed Midwife (LM). She is trained in newborn resuscitation, basic life support, trauma-informed care, birth emergency skills, resolving shoulder dystocia, spinning babies, and most recently functional maternity care. She began caring for women and babies in 2018 as a birth and postpartum doula and started her midwifery studies with Mercy in Action College of Midwifery in 2020. Ashley graduated from Mercy in Action College of Midwifery with her Bachelor of Science in Midwifery in 2023. After graduation, she continued as a staff midwife at West Michigan Midwifery, a practice near Grand Rapids, MI, for a year. She is excited to be opening her practice in Kalamazoo, MI where she has lived with her family for the last 12 years. Ashley also works as a Clinical Administrative Project Assistant with Mercy in Action College of Midwifery, continuing to stay involved in midwifery education and training. She is also currently, Vice President of a new non-profit Michigan Community Birth Initiative (MCBI) that is working to expand access to out-of-hospital births and reduce financial barriers to midwifery education, especially for those in high-risk populations. Ashley is married to John, and together, they have five children whom they have homeschooled. She enjoys nature walks, camping, beach trips, theater, and spending time with friends and family.
